About Us:

The Ambler Station Singers were founded in July 2018 as a choral ensemble to provide excellent musical entertainment in the Ambler Pennsylvania area as well as surrounding communities.  Our goal is to be an entertaining and excellent choir featuring the music of Stage and Screen, ageless popular tunes, and a few more “serious” pieces as well. We break our year up into two seasons, firstly, we produce and perform a Holiday Show which features both religious and secular classics designed to put everyone in the spirit of the season. Our yearly spring show is designed to be fun and entertaining, usually following a theme, with a nice mix of joyful music and deeper substance.

A Few Words From Our President, Christopher Henkel

On behalf of Ambler Station Singers, thank you for taking the opportunity to visit our website and learn more about us. Whether you are visiting, planning to attend one of our concerts, interested in singing with us, donating to, or sponsoring us, I cordially welcome you to our community!

At Ambler Station Singers, we bring joy to the hearts and lives of people in the Ambler community by pouring passion and excellence into the music we sing. Concertgoers will hear various genres of music at our performances including pop music, Broadway show tunes, jazz, African American spirituals, and classical. Our Artistic Director, Lisa Vanheldorf, is gifted with the ability to create and design programs by weaving together the threads of these various genres into a tapestry of captivating entertainment for our audiences. We delight in exceeding expectations!

Ambler Station Singers was founded in 2018 by Lisa, who earned a Master’s Degree in vocal performance from the University of Notre Dame and completed her undergraduate studies at New England Conservatory in Boston. Under Lisa’s direction, the choir grew rapidly in ability and numbers, becoming a family of diverse talent from the local community. No auditions have ever been required to join Ambler Station Singers.

In December of 2019, the choir, during its winter concert, delivered a stunningly beautiful performance of ‘Silent Night’, arranged by Dan Forrest. The standing room only crowd attending the concert at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ambler, PA was visibly moved to tears. After enduring the shutdowns of the 2020 COVID pandemic, Amber Station Singers showed resilience, re-emerged, built its numbers back up and once again performed a blockbuster concert for a sold-out audience in December of 2023.

In addition to our main concerts which are now held in December and June at First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, PA, Ambler Station Singers reaches out to the community and performs for residents in senior centers within the surrounding area. You may even find us spreading Christmas cheer as we go caroling at your favorite local restaurant in December!

If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to explore our website. Among the many things you will find, please check our calendar for upcoming performances and look at the video clips of past performances which have been posted for you to enjoy.

I invite you to attend one of our concerts, sing in our choir, or financially support our vital contribution to the community.

Warm Regards,

Christopher Henkel
